I'm Megan, I like Nu'est and Seventeen the most, but I also like Day6, Got7, iKON, and some other random artists I'm the type who usually isn't active among fanbases mainly cause I don't know what's the proper "etiquette" in this world haha but now I want to help generate love and support for the groups I like ^^
Side note, my hobbies are writing and drawing (though I'm not that great at it haha), and I'd like to learn how to dance and write music I'm a 98liner from NYC in a school where, though there are a lot of k-pop fans, it is not "cool" to be outwardly into k-pop Especially since I'm not Korean haha oops? I'm learning Japanese in school, am trying to learn some Korean on my own, and unfortunately find it impossible to "study" Chinese, even though it's my own language (ABC woo~) My number one bias is and forever will be JR ^^ though Jisoo also has a piece of my heart cause he's so frickin cute.
(PS sorry for being an absolute noob but how can people (cough like me) help support groups besides buying their music/streaming videos? I'd really like to help garner a larger fanbase for Nu'est especially, but also support Seventeen more ^^)
I'm sorry people at school make you feel like it's not okay to be outwardly into KPOP. :C
I'm also trying to learn Korean on my own. How are you learning? I use TTMIK!
JR is a personal favie of mine, I adore him <3333
(Don't worry about it, everyone starts somewhere. Plus we're all super friendly around here! A lot of us actually helped put together Pledis Week, which was supposed to help spread more awareness for groups, so this is the place to figure out how we can better support our favorite groups!)

I ALSO LISTEN TO TTMIK haha I play their podcasts when I have time ^_^ I also bought a few books (Korean for Beginners& Elementary Korean) so when school settles down (it's college apps season oh no) I'm going to dive right in~
JR caught my eye before I was into kpop and just never left~
Aw thank you haha I can tell that this forum is super nice Oooh yeah I've seen the PledisWeek promos on Twitter/Tumblr and have tried to help (though not sure how effective it was LOL) Besides these big event-like things, can you tell me what some basic ways that people usually support groups are?

Aaah, that's awesome! I'm currently up to Level 5 with their program but once I started college I stopped doing my lessons as frequently as I should @__@
Well, 1 crucial thing you can do is stream their music videos on their official channels. The higher their view count is, the better they perform on music shows. Right now, since SEVENTEEN is promoting with Mansae, it's important to get the views up high for that! The better they do on music shows, the more fans it will draw in, the more money they'll end up making (because they'll get endorsements and such) and then the better the group will be in the future financially!

Ooh okay yeah that makes a lot of sense lol ^^
BY THE WAY, I just finished reading the thread about Nuest's BtW single-- it hasn't been updated for about a week, so I'm not sure if it is a worldwide thing, but both the Japanese and English version of the song are available on iTunes in America! Have you been able to listen/buy it?

Yes, actually! I did buy the English version, and it's a really precious song! I meant to update the news section for NU'EST with it but I've been so busy with school and Pledis Week lmao.

Have you bought or listened to it?
yesssss haha i bought them both and i was actually so touched by the lyrics omg they're amazing <3
atm, even when i specifically search "Bridge the World" on youtube, there's only a video of the short itunes preview of the japanese version, and it's not even at the top result, so I was wondering if some places didn't sell the songs yet :x maybe it just needs time for more promoting T_T

It does need more promoting, and I don't know if there's anywhere that you can listen to the stream legally to help support the boys, either. :C
I should reblog my news post about it again. People need to know that NU'EST made an English song, haha! Westerners should be flipping out about it right now, <3
HELLO HI HELLO! L.O./\.E here. I'm in Baltimore! I'm sorry people make you feel like it's not cool to be outwardly into something. You like what you like. I say that of course but I remember how hard it was to gauge what was 'ok' and what wasn't when I was younger. I say love what you love, and this is a great place to do that! The crew and I are trying to teach ourselves Korean but it's a slow process. So far the language that made the most sense to me was German, but I'm enjoying Korean. I'm into a whole bunch of kpop groups, too. (I'm also not Korean. Mostly I'm just a mess.)
The English version of Bridge the World is a treasure. I just get the goofiest smile on my face because 1.) it's so cute and 2.) they've come SO FAR. The Japanese label is really doing good work for them.

Hi Megan! I know what it's like to be ridiculed for liking K-pop because they don't understand how you can like something an "not understand" it, but the ones that don't understand are them lol. Welcome to the forums!

HELLOO Nice to meet you haha thanks for the kind words ^_^ and you're right-- I've spent the past few years trying to fit in and like the same things everyone else likes, but in my last (yay) year of school I've finally decided to just do and like whatever I want (and it feels pretty great tbh) Yess learning korean isnt the easiest thing for me either (even though I've heard that it's grammatically similar to Japanese) but in terms of whatever I've learned so far, I'm enjoying it as well
I agree 100% omg I love it <3 Lately the only thing I've been listening to is BtW haha so if/when there's a way to support it by streaming then I'll be there asap

Thank you Truer words have yet to be spoken haha. Though hopefully one day I'll be able to understand the lyrics, but for now this is enough for me ^_^ I'm glad to be here everyone seems to be so welcoming <3
